Egg Freezing and IVF: Exploring your Fertility Options

What is egg freezing and who is it for?

Egg freezing is a method of preserving a woman’s fertility so she can try to have children in the future. Traditionally, it has been used by women whose fertility may be affected by certain medical treatments, such as cancer medications, or underlying health conditions. These days, however, egg freezing is now increasingly chosen by women who aren’t ready for children but want to protect their future reproductive options.

Egg Freezing Process

Daily hormone injections for 8-14 days stimulate multiple egg production. Ultrasound monitoring determines optimal collection timing. Eggs are retrieved under light sedation, then immediately frozen and stored.

How Age Affects Egg Quality

The age at which you choose to freeze your eggs is key to your chances of having a baby – the younger you are, the better. Egg quality declines more rapidly after the age of 35, so the best time to freeze your eggs is in your 20s and early 30s.

Costs

Estimated out-of-pocket costs will be discussed.

Options

When you are ready, you can opt to go through a vitrified oocyte cycle.

Speaker Bio

The Pain of Infertility: How to manage fertility when you have endometriosis

Navigating fertility options when you have endometriosis can be a challenge.
We will discuss the latest RANZCOG guideline for endometriosis and explore the impact of endometriosis on fertility.
Medical, surgical and supportive treatments options will be discussed with a focus on how can people with endometriosis be empowered to achieve a family.
The pathway from diagnosis to baby will be highlighted with a fresh eye approach at an old problem.

Takeaways:
● What is new in the world of endometriosis – there is an increase in focus on endometriosis in our society. The presentation of pain does not always represent the degree of disease. Pain is individual and needs addressed regardless of the pathology. Fertility can be a challenge as people need to stop their hormonal suppression in order to have a child.
● Endometriosis impacts fertility from pain in the act of conception, through to more biochemical issues such as implantation and progesterone resistance
● Is fertility preservation can be useful for people concerned about fertility in the future or those undertaking significant endometriosis surgery.
● A supportive multidisciplinary team is important for management during fertility and beyond.

No therapy experience needed, just willingness to try something new. Take home a personalised toolkit for navigating treatment with greater calm and confidence.

You’ll Learn:
● Safe place visualisation technique for instant emotional refuge during stressful moments
● Bilateral tapping methods to calm your nervous system before and after procedures
● Grounding techniques specifically for medical anxiety and overwhelm
● How to create your personalised emotional regulation toolkit
● When these techniques are helpful vs. when to seek professional support

About Liz

Elizabeth Bancroft discovered her calling during her own fertility treatment when what looked like an emotional breakdown during a procedure was actually sensory overload. This pivotal moment led her to reconceptualise mental health support for women navigating IVF and recognize the higher rates of undiagnosed neurodivergence within fertility populations.

As a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist and founder of Hope Affirm Thrive, Liz brings a neurodiversity-affirming approach developed through over 14 years in mental health and 7 years treating reproductive trauma. Her accredited EMDR and resource therapy training, combined with LOAPAC membership, informs her unique integrative method—tested and refined through years of 1:1 therapy.

Known for her directive, honest, no-fluff approach, Liz tackles the psychological barriers causing 50% of IVF patients to stop treatment. She cuts through wellness platitudes to deliver practical tools that actually work for all minds and nervous systems. Her presentations move beyond one-size-fits-all approaches to honour how differently we each experience this challenging journey.

The Role of Nutrition in Getting Pregnant

Nutrition is one of the most powerful tools we have to support fertility and give you the best chance of conception.

In this session, I’ll share why what we eat in the pre-conception phase really matters.
We’ll cover the three key factors that make conception possible – healthy eggs and sperm, a receptive uterus and implantation environment, and a regular menstrual cycle; and why nutrition continues to play an important role even when using Assisted Reproductive Treatments (ART) to improve success and support overall reproductive health.

I’ll also share practical dietary tips to support each of these fertility factors, including foods that enhance egg and sperm quality, help regulate hormones, and nurture a healthy uterine environment.
Plus, you’ll get a free pre-conception checklist and guidance on accessing ongoing support—everything you need to confidently take charge of your fertility journey.

  • Learn how nutrition can enhance fertility and boost success with Assisted Reproductive Treatments (ART)
  • Discover practical ways to optimise egg, sperm and uterine health through your diet.
  • Learn how to support regular ovulation with simple nutritional strategies.
Receive a free pre-conception checklist to guide your nutrition and lifestyle to help prepare for pregnancy.
  • Find out how to access ongoing support to confidently navigate your fertility journey.

A Million Little Choice Points: Finding Clarity in Fertility Decision Making

Fertility treatment is filled with countless decisions, big and little—treatments, medications, timing, finances, healthy lifestyle, self-care, support options, disclosure, next steps, etc etc. Each one can feel high-stakes, as though the “right” choice is out there and it’s our fault for not finding it. As we navigate this uncertainty, we often find ourselves making the best of imperfect options, without space to pause or reflect.

This workshop, led by counsellor and lived experience advocate Sarah Roberts, shifts the focus from what to decide to how we make those decisions.  Through guided reflection and supportive dialogue, you’ll gain tools to navigate the process with more clarity and compassion.

We will explore:

  1. The factors that can fuel decision-making stress and possible responses
  2. Practical decision-making tools, especially if feeling conflicted, stressed or uncertain
  3. The relief and solidarity that can come from sharing this journey with others who understand.

Come join us, as we share the weight of these decisions together.

About Sarah

Sarah Roberts is a Counsellor, Lived Experience Advocate, World Childless Week Ambassador and Founder of the Empty Cradle, a healing and support service for women whose fertility story ends without a baby.

Sarah understands this experience from the inside, as this is her story too. After 10 years trying to conceive, Sarah left IVF, alone in deep grief and found no appropriate support.

Sarah pivoted her work as a therapist to supporting women coming to terms with this heartbreaking loss and wondering about life now.  Sarah is passionate about caring for our headspace during our fertile years and beyond.
